He was a companion of Paul in spreading the gospel. These facts are consistent with the internal evidence. According to Bateman, it is also apparent from the book of Hebrews that t he author must have been a person of great prowess and mental adaptability.11 The author utilizes teachings from Peter, Stephen, James, and Paul. Barnabas qualifies perfectly with the character of mysterious Hebrews’ author. Acts 4 refers to him as a ‘Son of Encouragement.’12 He had a great impact on Jerusalem in companion with other apostles. Out of the several names that have been suggested by various theologians, this inference princi pally coincides with Barnabas.16 Certainly, some of the qualities of the books’ authorship are in uniformity with Barnabas. Barnabas’ major task was to encourage believers. This role is inconsistent with the writer of Hebrews who provides a ‘word of exhortation’ as evident in Hebrews 13:22. Hence, most scholars seem to have ignored the aforementioned Tertullian opinion. There is inadequate literature supporting or criticizing Barnabas as the author of Hebrews. Apollos As indicated earlier, the increased interest concerning the authorship and destination of the book of Hebrews began in the Reformation Period. One of the prominent religionists at the time, namely Martin Luther, suggested Apollos as the writer of this book. This proposition attracted the attention of most researchers because of the wording of Acts 18: 24-26.17 The extract from Acts was about Apollos was consistent with most characteristics of the unidentified author. Apollos was a male Hellen istic Jew. Besides being expressive, he had a profound knowledge of Greek and the Old Testament. A further supposition would be that Apollos drafted the letter and passed it to his companions and teachers, Priscilla and her husband, Aquila. Later, Priscilla and Aquilla must have circulated the message to the Churches in Rome and North Africa. According to Gareth, they opted to conceal the name of the author for the obvious reason that they were not the original writers.19 However, since this contention has no scholarly backing, it can simply act as a point for further research. Meanwhile, readers can opt to either let the human author of Hebrews be a mystery or assume it is Paul. There has been an exhaustive study on why or why not Paul is the author. Indeed, the closing phrase in Hebrews coincides with other thirteen Pauline epistles. Paul was an educated apostle who was conversant with the Jewish practices and Greek viewpoints. He had been held captive in Italy. During his visit to Rome, he was assisted by his closest companion Timothy to communicate to the Churches from the West to East. Furthermore, he had a good comprehension of Mosaic laws and other Old Testament scriptures. Notably, various theologians have explained criticisms that have been raised against Pauline authorship of Hebrews. Hence, although it might be inconclusive, Paul seems the most conceivable author of the book of Hebrews among the entire list of suspected authors. Compound nouns, for example, are variously styled closed (for example, horseshoe), hyphenated (light-year), and open (â€Å"income tax†). But correctly formatting a noun isn’t the only challenge when it comes to determining whether one word or two is appropriate. This post discusses three classes of errors in usage regarding compounds. First, adverbs such as altogether and prepositions like nevertheless and notwithstanding are often styled â€Å"all together,† â€Å"not withstanding,† and â€Å"never the less,† but although use of these phrases is at least plausible (for example, â€Å"When they were all together, we found that they were more likely to agree†), when they serve as adverbs and prepositions, it is never correct to treat them as separate words. (Yes, all and together are both adverbs, but â€Å"all together† is a sequence of two adverbs, one intensifying the other, not a single adverb.) On the other hand, the following phrases are never correct as one word: alot, alright, eachother, moreso, and nevermind (except, in the latter case, as the title of a certain album). (Alright is in the dictionary, and I’ve used it in this post, but those appearances are merely acknowledgments of its existence, not endorsements.) Everyday, meanwhile, is correct only as an adjective (as in the phrase â€Å"everyday savings†), not standing on its own (the correct treatment is â€Å"You’ll find savings every day†). Then there is a large class of words that, like everyday, are correctly closed in one grammatical form and open in another. For example, when one writes that one plans to work out, the verb phrase is treated correctly. But when describing what one plans to do, one refers to â€Å"doing a workout.† This is true of numerous verb-preposition phrases such as â€Å"log in,† â€Å"break down,† and â€Å"mark up† that become closed compounds when they serve as nouns. Note, however, that there are exceptions, including come-on, in which the compound is hyphenated as shown. (Such exceptions generally persist because of the aversion to having two consecutive vowels in a compound word.) He opened his heart to me and from that day on, I looked for friends willing to do the same. As I grew older, I met two of the most converse individuals in the world. When I was first introduced to Chris and Desmond, I did not know what to think. Everyone said that they were best friends, but for some strange reason I just could not understand why. As time passed we became closer and we grew fonder of each other. We did just about everything together. Then finally, after all the years of questioning their relationship, it finally hit me, opposites attract. Chris grew up in a stable home with a mother, a father, a sister, and an older brother. He learned how to live life very differently than anyone I’ve every met because he had to learn how to provide and to survive on his own. Even though he had both a mother and a father living with him, they still did not have enough money to provide everything for him immediately after his birth. He learned how to be independent and that has made him the person he is today. When he was fourteen, his family moved from a low income neighborhood to an upper middle class neighborhood. From rages to riches, some people might say, but that was not the case. Chris was still the same cheap guy. Chris has the type of personality that I absolutely hated when I first met him. He said things that were true, but uncalled for at the time. He just told the truth no matter what or who might got hurt. I honestly could not stand him for that. As we became closer I began to understand that was a very outspoken individual, who never held back. And now I really appreciate that about his character. Chris is my balance in life. Whenever I’m on cloud nine, he always brings me back to reality. Desmond is also my best friend.

Global Warming Affects Biodiversity Essay

There has always been a link between climate change and biodiversity. As the climate changes, the animals in the affected areas have to either adjust or leave. Although climate changes have been occurring throughout history, the rapid climate changes of today are resulting in species not being able to adapt quickly enough and undergoing species loss. Some species may adapt well to the climate changes such as an increase in bugs and pests, but others, such as Arctic animals are being forced away from their homes as the glaciers that they live on melt and break away. The Arctic and areas that are in higher latitudes have a higher rate of warming and this pattern is expected to continue as climates everywhere changes and temperatures go up. As Earth warms up, the glaciers in the Arctic start to melt, and species such as the polar bear and the arctic fox that depend on the sea ice, will start to disappear and only be available for viewing in places such as zoos. The polar bear and the arctic fox are not just the only species that will be affected. The fish, birds, marine mammals, and even the algae that grows on the undersides of the glaciers will be severely impacted as the ice melts and eventually disappears all together. The climate changes do strictly impact the Arctic, but the whole world. As ice melts in the Arctic, the temperature in seas and oceans change and the salt levels change which affects the reproduction of marine species. Once this happens, Alaskan fish will be a delicacy only available for the rich and special. Also once the all the sea ice melts, the water levels will rise and much of the land bordering oceans and seas will be covered and people will be forced to relocate and adjust, just like the Arctic animals. The change in ecosystems all over the world will result in loss of food sources, jobs, natural resources, and some natural pharmaceutical products. Rising temperatures will also affect the health of humans by exposing them to more forms of disease. Cold temperatures help regulate and control the spreading of many diseases. Diseases such as malaria are likely to spread because mosquitos will not die during the winter because temperatures are slightly lower than they are in summer. Parasites that originate from sub-tropical environments may migrate to more moderate biomes and reproduce and attack there.

Both nations felt that they did not need to nor desired to interact with the rest of the world, or intervene in disputes between â€Å"barbarians† (Aizawa 348.) As a consequence, throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, neither country advanced much technologically. On the other hand, over that same period the west experienced and reaped the benefits of an industrial revolution that saw dramatic advances in mathematics, science, and technology. The west subsequently experienced significant economic growth, and western powers then began building empires in pursuit of further growth. As a result, when western powers finally started pressuring East Asian countries in the 19th century to open their markets, the Chinese and Japanese weren’t in a position to resist.
